THE ROLE

The
Full Stack Developer
is responsible for building and maintaining web applications using Ruby on Rails for the backend and (React) for the frontend. This role involves working with RESTful APIs, relational databases, performance optimization, and translating feature requirements and mockups into scalable services and responsive user interfaces. Beyond technical execution, it requires effective tackling of complex problems and delivery of features that provide real business value. It directly supports the implementation of reliable, user-focused software solutions that meet client and business needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build, maintain, and improve full-stack web applications using Ruby on Rails and
  • Develop well-structured and efficient APIs and backend services
  • Translate visual design mockups into responsive, functional frontend interfaces
  • Design and manage databases, ensuring performance, security, and data integrity
  • Participate in planning, analyzing requirements, and solving complex problems across development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of applications
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and fellow developers to ensure feasibility and great user experience
  • Review code and provide constructive feedback to maintain a high-quality bar
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices and evolving tech in both frontend and backend ecosystems

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of experience building full-stack web applications using modern JavaScript frameworks e.g. React, , Angular) and MVC/MVT backend frameworks (e.g., Ruby on Rails, Django, Laravel). Experience with and Rails is a plus, but not required
  • Open to learning new technologies, including the team's current stack and others that may be adopted in the future
  • Strong grasp of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and frontend technologies
  • Familiar with Tailwind CSS or similar CSS frameworks
  • Experience working with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar relational databases
  • Comfortable building and consuming RESTful APIs
  • Knowledgeable of Git and development workflows
  • Understands object-oriented design, component-based architecture, and MVC/MVT patterns
  • Demonstrated experience tackling technically complex challenges, such as performance optimization, scaling, or implementing complex feature requirements (e.g., rules-driven workflows or dynamic business logic), and an eagerness to take on such problems
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, and can communicate technical ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • A strong team player who is adaptable, collaborative, and comfortable working independently in a remote-first setup
