As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced, highly skilled Technical QA Engineer to help spearhead our quality assurance efforts, ensuring our services meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and user experience.

Role Overview

The Technical QA Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring quality across our web, mobile and platform product lines. This individual will collaborate closely with other QA team members, the development teams, product managers, and other stakeholders to define testing strategies, identify potential issues, and implement solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Testing: At present, we have a largely manual testing process when it comes to assessing the quality of a release of our platform, web and mobile apps. Initially you will to pitch in and help test the releases manually - however the goal is to automate the testing as much as possible. Your challenge will be to reduce the amount of manual testing required by completing that automation work in the background.
  • Test Strategy & Planning: Help develop and implement comprehensive test strategies, plans, and scenarios based on product requirements and specifications.
  • Collaborative QA: Help mentor and guide a small team of QA engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Test Execution & Automation: Drive the execution of manual and automated tests, ensuring thorough coverage and efficient identification of defects.
  • Defect Management: Identify, document, and track defects, working closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the QA process, adopting best practices and new technologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on quality objectives and to address any quality-related concerns.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports on testing progress, defect status, and quality metrics to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in software quality assurance, with at least 2 years in a Technical QA role within a SaaS product development environment - ideally a startup or scale-up with a focus on mobile and web apps.
  • Technical Skills: A proven proficiency in test automation covering API, web and mobile app testing (e.g. Playwright, Selenium etc), associated languages (e.g. JavaScript), and version control systems (e.g. Git and Github). A solid working understanding of how to conduct performance, load, and soak testing. A working knowledge of vulnerability testing on SaaS platforms and services is considered a plus.
  • Methodologies: Strong working understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies, including Agile.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
