Cobol Programmer

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced
COBOL Developer
with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on development experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in
COBOL programming
, database management, and integration with modern technologies. You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining applications in support of business operations, ensuring high performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain COBOL-based applications in accordance with business requirements.
• Work with
  DB2
  databases to create, modify, and optimize queries and stored procedures.
• Utilize
  UNIX
  systems for development, deployment, and application support activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate COBOL systems with
  SQL
  and
  Java
  components.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, ensuring minimal downtime and high system performance.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for applications, processes, and procedures.
• Perform unit and integration testing to ensure quality and compliance with project standards.
• Provide production support and assist in incident resolution when needed.
• Work on reporting solutions; experience with
  Crystal Reports
  is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years
  of experience as a COBOL Developer.
• Proficiency in
  COBOL
  programming on mainframe or distributed platforms.
• Strong experience with
  DB2
  ,
  UNIX
  , and
  SQL
  .
• Knowledge of
  Java
  for application integration or related tasks.
• Experience with
  Crystal Reports
  (preferred but not required).
• Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
