About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Banking Officer to join our operations team. This role is responsible for handling and verifying financial transactions such as telegraphic transfers, withdrawals, and deposits, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal controls. The successful candidate will work closely with relationship managers, tellers, and clients, and will play a key role in supporting process improvements and maintaining accurate records for audit purposes.

Key Responsibilities


• Handle, verify, and process incoming and outgoing financial transactions (e.g., telegraphic transfers, withdrawals, deposits) with accuracy and timeliness.


• Verify customer instructions, signatures, account balances, and supporting documents before execution.


• Maintain organized and accurate records of telegraphic transfers for audit and compliance requirements.


• Coordinate with relationship managers, tellers, and clients regarding TT-related inquiries; eventually handle direct client-facing interactions with banks once regularized.


• Support system upgrades, process enhancements, and internal control initiatives related to remittance services and the in-house application.


• Perform other operational tasks as may be assigned to support business needs.

Qualifications:


• Minimum of 2 years' experience in banking, finance, accounting, or related operations.


• Strong knowledge of financial transaction processes, including telegraphic transfers.


• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.


• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.


• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.


• High degree of accuracy and meticulousness


• Adaptability in handling changing processes and requirements


• Willingness to learn and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives


• Good communication and teamwork skills
