The Production Intern will gain hands-on experience in the tree-to-bar chocolate manufacturing process, supporting the production team in various stages from bean preparation to finished product packaging. The intern will assist in daily operations, quality checks, and maintaining adherence to high food safety and quality standards (HACCP/GMP) within the factory environment.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing Support:

  • Assist in the preparation of raw materials, including sorting, cleaning, roasting, and winnowing of cacao beans.
  • Support the refining and conching process by assisting machine operators and monitoring process parameters (temperature, time, consistency).
  • Learn and assist with tempering and moulding techniques to create finished chocolate bars and couverture products.
  • Help with the operation, cleaning, and basic maintenance of production machinery and equipment.

Quality and Safety Compliance:

  • Conduct routine quality checks on raw materials, in-process goods, and finished products as instructed by the Quality Assurance (QA) team.
  • Ensure all production activities adhere strictly to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Food Safety standards.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the production floor, assisting with sanitation protocols and end-of-shift cleanup.

Documentation and Inventory:

  • Assist in accurately recording production data, including batch numbers, processing times, yield, and material usage.
  • Support inventory management by assisting in the counting, labeling, and storage of materials and finished goods.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or quality deviations promptly to the supervisor.
