Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

Job Summary:

The Quantity Surveyor (QS) is responsible for managing all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures. The role seeks to minimize project costs, enhance value for money, and ensure that the project meets all legal and quality standards. The QS will work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure financial and contractual control throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cost Estimation & Budgeting
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
• Analyze project drawings, specifications, and related documents to determine material and labor costs.
• Provide cost advice during the feasibility and design stages.
• Tendering & Procurement
• Prepare bills of quantities (BOQs), tender documents, and cost schedules.
• Evaluate contractor and subcontractor bids for accuracy and competitiveness.
• Assist in negotiation and preparation of contracts and subcontracts.
• Cost Control & Financial Management
• Monitor project costs against budgets and forecasts.
• Identify, analyze, and manage variations or changes in project scope.
• Prepare monthly cost reports and advise on cost overruns or savings.
• Valuations & Payments
• Carry out valuations for interim payments and certify completed works.
• Assess subcontractor claims and prepare payment recommendations.
• Prepare final accounts upon project completion.
• Contract Administration
• Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
• Advise on contractual claims and dispute resolution.
• Support project teams with commercial and contractual matters.
• Value Engineering & Risk Management
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
• Conduct risk assessments related to cost, schedule, and procurement.
• Reporting & Documentation
• Maintain accurate records of all financial and contractual project documentation.
• Provide regular progress and financial reports to management and stakeholders.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Professional accreditation (e.g., RICS, AIQS, CIQS, or equivalent) is preferred.
• 2–5 years of experience in cost estimation, quantity surveying, or commercial management in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legislation.
• Proficient in cost estimation software (e.g., CostX, Candy, or similar) and MS Excel.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Php18, Php30,000.00 per month
