PRIMARY ROLE AND PURPOSE

The Material Planner is responsible for managing the planning, procurement, and inventory control of materials used in the production of LPG. This includes ensuring the availability of raw materials, coordinating with suppliers, managing stock levels, and ensuring that material flow aligns with production schedules to meet demand efficiently and on time.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education : Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

Graduate Studies : N/A

Certifications : Professional certifications is an advantage.

General Skills :

o Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in material planning, procurement, or inventory management in a manufacturing environment.

o Experience in the LPG, chemical, or energy industry is preferred.

o Strong understanding of material planning principles, MRP systems, and supply chain management.

o Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data to make informed decisions.

o Proficiency with inventory management software and MS Offices (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

o Effective communication and negotiation skills.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Develop and maintain material requirements planning (MRP) for manufacturing process based on production schedules and forecasts.
  • Analyze historical consumption data and trends to predict future material requirements.
  • Work closely with production and procurement teams to ensure adequate material availability for ongoing and future production needs.
  • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, spare parts, and finished products to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
  • Manage stock rotation and ensure proper handling of materials, especially considering the perishable or safety-sensitive nature of materials in production.
  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure material availability aligns with production schedules.
  • Create and issue purchase orders based on material requirements and production schedules.
  • Track and ensure that orders are delivered on time and that any delays or discrepancies are promptly addressed.
  • Resolve material-related issues that may impact production timelines or product quality.
  • Provide feedback to production and engineering teams regarding any material constraints that could affect operational efficiency.
  • Work closely with production teams to ensure that material needs are met in accordance with production schedules.
  • Work with procurement and finance teams to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising material quality.
  • Implement strategies to minimize waste and reduce material costs in line with production requirements.
  • Ensure that materials used in production meet all regulatory and safety standards applicable to the industry.
  • Provide regular reports on inventory levels, material shortages, and order statuses.
  • Analyze material usage trends and recommend adjustments to prevent stockouts or excess stock.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to implement best practices for inventory management, material handling, and production flow.
