- Provide nursing care to patients but not limited to medicine administration
- Performs intravenous line insertion/re-insertion, collection of diagnostic samples, other procedures not requiring a veterinarian (i.e. wound cleaning/flushing/re-bandaging) of patient.
- Monitor patient's vital sign including but not limited to temperature, pulse rate, respiratory rate, heart rate, blood pressure, neurologic status and mentation.
- Answer client inquiries should the Vet on duty is not available.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness of patient wards.
- Monitor the patency of IV catheters, IV fluid lines and calibrate drip rates.
- Monitor preparation of patient meals, assist feeding and monitor specific type of food for patients.
- Assist in pre-operative preparation of patients, prepare medication as instructed by Veterinarian.
- Assist Veterinarians in running blood test, radiographs, ultrasonography and other diagnostic tests.
- Maintains the inventory and upkeep of laboratory consumables (i.e stains, rotors, reagent packs, etc.)
- Prepare take home medications as prescribed by the Veterinarian.
- Take initial vital signs of the patients inside the consult rooms.
- Oversee specimens collected and check labels, proper storage and dispense.
Supplemental pay types:
- 13th month salary
