Responsible for preparing customs documentation and ensuring that shipments meet all applicable laws for the smooth import and export of goods. This role involves determining and tracking duties and taxes, processing payments on behalf of clients, and facilitating customs transactions.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Facilitate Customs Transactions:

Manage and expedite customs transactions for both imports and exports, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

Review the Classification of Goods:

Ensure the correct classification of goods for customs purposes in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Payment of Duties and Fees:

Calculate and process payments for customs duties, taxes, and fees on behalf of clients.

Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate records of import/export activities and ensure that documentation complies with legal and regulatory requirements.

Prepare and Process Documentation:

Handle import and export documentation, ensuring alignment with customs regulations, laws, and procedures.

Provide Duty and Tax Quotes:

Offer quotes on duties and taxes for goods to be imported based on federal tariffs and excise tax rates.

Monitor Shipment Locations:

Track and trace the movement of goods, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with regulations.

Obtain Line Releases:

Secure line releases for frequent shippers of low-risk commodities, high-volume entries, or multiple-container shipments.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Customs, Logistics, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in customs brokerage or relevant areas.
  • Strong knowledge of administration, management, and customs regulations.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
