PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Part-Time Company Nurse is responsible for promoting and maintaining the health and well-being of employees by delivering essential medical services, supporting workplace safety initiatives, and coordinating health-related programs. This role plays a vital part in ensuring a healthy and safe work environment, in compliance with local health regulations and company policies.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct routine health assessments and medical evaluations for employees; maintain accurate and confidential health records in accordance with company policy and legal standards.
- Administer first aid and basic medical care for work-related injuries or illnesses, and facilitate prompt referral to external healthcare providers when necessary.
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of occupational health and safety protocols, ensuring alignment with OSHA standards or applicable local regulations.
- Identify potential workplace health hazards and recommend preventive strategies, such as ergonomic adjustments and proactive health measures.
- Actively participate in the company's emergency response team, offering medical support during emergencies and coordinating with external medical services when required.
- Ensure the availability, cleanliness, and proper functioning of all medical supplies and equipment.
- Document all medical incidents, treatments, and workplace injury reports accurately and in a timely manner.
- Prepare and submit regular health and safety reports to management, highlighting trends, insights, and areas for improvement.
- Coordinate with external healthcare providers, insurance companies, and regulatory agencies for medical and compliance matters.
- Support the reintegration of employees returning to work after illness or injury, including coordination of reasonable accommodations when necessary.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, and QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent.
- A licensed Registered Nurse
- Minimum of 2-5 years of nursing experience, preferably in occupational health, clinical settings, or similar roles.
- Available to work 2-4 WEEKDAYS per week.
- Experience in developing and implementing workplace health and safety programs is a plus.
- Strong clinical skills, including first aid and emergency care.
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in maintaining confidential medical records and preparing detailed reports.
- Familiarity with workplace ergonomics and risk management practices.
- Certification in Occupational Health Nursing (COHN) or equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
