Position Summary

The Hospital Utility/Orderly is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and orderliness in all assigned hospital areas. The role provides support to clinical and non-clinical departments by ensuring a safe, clean, and infection-controlled environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The Utility/Orderly also assists in basic patient transport, unit preparation, and logistic tasks as needed.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

A. Housekeeping & Sanitation

  • Performs cleaning, disinfecting, and maintenance of assigned hospital areas (wards, nurses' stations, hallways, comfort rooms, offices, etc.).
  • Ensures compliance with hospital sanitation standards and infection control guidelines.
  • Handles proper waste segregation and disposal in accordance with hospital waste management policies.
  • Replenishes supplies such as soaps, tissue, disinfectants, and cleaning materials.

B. Patient Assistance & Support

  • Assists in safe patient transport (wheelchair, stretcher) as instructed by nursing staff.
  • Helps prepare beds and patient areas before admission, transfer, or discharge.
  • Provides basic non-medical support in patient movement under nurse supervision.

C. Logistics & Unit Support

  • Reports defective equipment, maintenance concerns, or safety hazards timely.
  • Ensures proper handling and care of cleaning tools and hospital property.
  • Assists in maintaining stock levels of housekeeping and unit supplies.

D. Safety & Compliance

  • Follows infection control, safety protocols, and hospital policies at all times.
  • Participates in emergency response (fire drills, disaster preparedness) as required.
  • Maintains confidentiality and observes professional behavior when interacting with patients, visitors, and staff.

Work Standards

  • Maintains cleanliness and orderliness in assigned areas at all times.
  • Completes tasks promptly, accurately, and with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrates teamwork, professionalism, and a service-oriented attitude.

Qualifications – Hospital Utility / Orderly

  • Graduate of Senior High School
  • Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks, including lifting and transporting patients
  • Willing to work 104 hours per cut-off and render overtime as needed
  • Maintains a healthy lifestyle: does not smoke or consume alcohol
  • Able to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision
  • Trustworthy, disciplined, and able to maintain confidentiality
  • Willing to work in a hospital environment and strictly adhere to safety and infection control standards

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Php14, Php15,000.00 per month
