Job Summary

The Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing the engineering team, overseeing design activities, ensuring technical excellence, and supporting project development and operations within the construction and solar sectors. This role involves strategic planning, technical supervision, and coordination across departments to ensure that projects meet quality, safety, and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of design engineers, project engineers, and technical staff.
  • Oversee project design, development, and execution for construction and solar energy projects.
  • Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure all engineering deliverables meet industry standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the project management, procurement, and operations teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Conduct technical evaluations, feasibility studies, and design reviews.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and project staff.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, schedules, and quality control.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, and contractors to resolve design or implementation issues.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in engineering processes and technologies.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and quality management systems (QMS).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical)
  • Licensed Engineer (PRC) preferred.
  • At least 7–10 years of relevant experience, with 3–5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Proven experience handling design engineers, project development, and operations.
  • Strong background in the construction and solar/renewable energy industry is required.
  • Excellent knowledge of project management principles, design standards, and engineering best practices.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, PVSyst, Helioscope, MS Project, or similar engineering tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and deliver under tight timelines.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in solar PV design, installation, and commissioning.
  • Knowledge of electrical system design, energy yield assessment, and power distribution.
  • Familiarity with local codes, permits, and regulatory processes in the construction/renewable energy industry.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an advantage.
