CREDIT INVESTIGATOR

Division: Credit Management Division

Department: Loan / Credit Department

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for conducting credit investigation and background check via system, tele or field verification on prospective clients/employees of the Bank to determine their eligibility/qualification according to set standards or parameters

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adheres to the following:
  • Bank policies/procedures/standards
  • Bank's organizational thrusts
  • Top mananagement's, Loan Management Division's and other related division's directives in the performance of assigned tasks
  • Executes the Credit Investigation Manual in the performance of assigned tasks such as, but not limited to:
  • Background investigation
  • Residence checking
  • Employment verification
  • Business verification
  • Trade checking
  • Card Checking Request
  • Card Checking Result
  • Card Check Declin
  • Ensures compliance to set standards/parameters in the performance of assigned tasks and that processes implemented conforms with approved policy and program guidelines.
  • Adheres to SLA and TAT in the performance of assigned tasks.
  • Assists Unit Head on credit items, non-credit related items/special assignments, as the need arises.
  • Conducts and prepares meaningful and accurate investigation reports at the least cost and within the deadline to assist the lending officers in the credit underwriting process.
  • Performs discreet and thorough investigation on the background, character and financial standing, records and habits of loan applicants or clients of the banks and renders a Credit Investigation Report to the management.
  • Conducts and entertains inquiries and credit checking with other banks, financial institutions, branches and individuals.
  • Verifies the registration of subject companies with government agencies concerned and obtains pertinent information as to their organization or existence and nature of business.
  • Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Candidate must be a college graduate, preferably of any business course.
  • Advantage with at least one (1) year of work experience in Credit Investigation in the Banking and Financial Sectors.
  • Must be able to use computer technology and software applications such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.).
  • With good oral and written communication skills.
  • Organized and with keen attention to detail.
  • Time management skills.

  • Team player.
  • Professional.
  • Must be willing to do field work from time to time.
