A. General Description of the Position:

Responsible for providing basic health care to employees, including the provision of emergency treatment and the administration of over-the-counter medicines as may be needed. Responsible for the promotion of the health and wellness of the employees.

B. List of Responsibilities:

  • Works with the Safety Officer in ensuring adherence to Occupational Health and Safety Standards. Acts as the alternate Safety Officer if the Primary Safety Officer is not onsite.
  • Applies emergency treatment of illnesses and injuries sustained by employees and agency employees deployed onsite.
  • Works with the Safety Officer in decreasing the risk for work-related and workplace-sustained injuries and illnesses.
  • Monitors the number of incidents of work-related injuries and illnesses and uses such data in creating/ initiating health and safety programs for the whole organization.
  • Coordinate with HMO provider and Company Physician for any health-related concern of employees.
  • Conduct hospital and/or home visits when needed.
  • Conducts periodic assessments of at-risk individuals including BP monitoring, blood sugar monitoring, etc.
  • Ensures that the minimum health protocols are followed by all employees.
  • Maintain health records of all employees and ensure that record is updated.
  • Assess and determines health status of employee that may lead to recommendations like sent home or for consultation with the doctor and assessment of employee if fit to work
  • Assists in filing and update monitoring of filings with ECC.
  • Acts as HR on-site and coordinates with the Department with regards to the needs of the employees.
  • Supervises the welfare and activities of the employees.

C.  Qualifications

  • Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Must have a Nursing License
  • Must have undergone an Occupational Health and Safety Training for Nurses
  • Must be a Certified First Aider
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Company Nurse.
  • Preferably with knowledge and exposure to the Human Resources Department
  • Adept in Microsoft Office and presentation tools.
  • Knowledge in administering emergency care.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
  • Must have a warm and caring disposition
