Role Summary

About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Finance Assistant to support the financial operations of our client. This role assists with Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, general bookkeeping tasks, and month-end close activities. The position is ideal for junior to early mid-level candidates who have foundational accounting experience and are eager to grow in a fast-paced, international environment.

The Finance Assistant will work closely with the Finance Manager and play an important role in keeping financial records accurate, up to date, and compliant.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable (A/R)

  • Assist in preparing and sending invoices to customers.
  • Monitor customer payments and follow up on outstanding balances.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and payment schedules.

Accounts Payable (A/P)

  • Process supplier invoices, ensuring correct coding and documentation.
  • Assist with weekly or monthly payment runs.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies.

General Accounting & Bookkeeping

  • Maintain accurate entries in the accounting system.
  • Assist with journal entries, accruals, and prepayments.
  • Help with balance sheet reconciliations and financial documentation.
  • Ensure proper filing, coding, and cost allocation across departments.

Month-End Close Support

  • Assist in preparing month-end schedules and reports.
  • Support reconciliations, data validation, and updating financial trackers.
  • Help prepare information needed for audits and financial reviews.

Finance Administration

  • Provide administrative and analytical support to the Finance Manager.
  • Assist with process improvements and ad-hoc finance tasks.
  • Support broader finance operations as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in accounting, A/R, A/P, or bookkeeping.
  • Experience with financial closing processes is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets; experience with accounting software is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with international teams.

Desirable

  • Experience working with international or SaaS-based companies
  • Familiarity with accounting or finance tools such as Blue10, Exact Online, HubSpot, Monitr, Stripe, Notion, and Cledara (accessed via Google Chrome)
  • Proficiency with collaboration and productivity tools such as MS Excel, Slack, and Google Chrome
  • Understanding of A/R and A/P best practices
  • Experience with financial systems or workflow tools is an advantage
