TAX MANAGER

Tax Manager to oversee and manage all tax-related activities within our banking organization. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of tax compliance, planning, and regulatory frameworks specific to the banking and financial services industry.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of federal, state, and local tax returns (corporate income, franchise, sales/use, property tax, etc.).
  • Manage tax audits and liaise with regulatory authorities and external auditors.
  • Develop and implement effective tax strategies to optimize the bank's tax position.
  • Monitor and interpret new tax laws and regulatory changes, assessing their impact on the bank.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., legal, finance, risk) to support business initiatives and assess tax implications.
  • Oversee tax accounting processes including deferred tax calculations and reporting (ASC 740 or IFRS equivalent).
  • Assist with transfer pricing, international tax compliance, and intercompany arrangements (if applicable).
  • Supervise and mentor junior tax staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's in Taxation or CPA preferred).
  • Minimum of 5–8 years of relevant tax experience, preferably with exposure to the banking or financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of corporate tax laws, banking regulations, and financial products.
  • Proficiency with tax preparation software and financial reporting tools (e.g., OneSource, Oracle, SAP).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with banking-specific tax issues (e.g., loan loss reserves, mark-to-market accounting, withholding tax).
  • Prior experience working with regulatory bodies such as the IRS, SEC, or OCC.
