Overview

US Tax Client Specialist (100% Remote Work) — TaxValet — Fractional Sales Tax Department. Join to apply for the US Tax Client Specialist role at TaxValet. This role is fully remote and involves serving as the principal contact for existing client accounts in areas such as annual nexus reviews, permit applications, permit closures, offboarding, tax settings, and new sales channels.

Responsibilities
  • Existing Client Project Management. Manage changes to existing client accounts, communicate effectively, and move projects through the identified workflow in a timely way.
  • Support Existing Clients. Assist existing clients and their Sales Tax Accountants with issues related to tax collection settings, new platforms, permits, permit closures, and offboarding.
  • Annual Sales Tax Nexus Reviews. Analyze economic and presence factors to determine nexus obligations annually; collaborate with the Onboarding Specialist to review and present results to the client. Live nexus review meetings may be conducted once readiness is established.
  • Sales Tax Settings Setup and Testing. Update and test tax collection settings on sales platforms for new permit start or end dates.
  • Client Offboarding. Support clients who offboard, including managing permit closures, final billings and paperwork, system removals, and ensuring a positive end-to-end experience.
  • First Contact for Existing Clients Needing Support. Provide support across annual nexus reviews, permit applications, permit closures, offboarding, tax settings, and new sales channels, to maximize efficiency for New Client Onboarding Specialists.
  • Billing Support. Serve as the primary point of contact for billing-related changes or issues for all clients.
  • Contributing to Onboarding Process Improvement. Work with the Onboarding Team to improve project workflow for existing clients, ensuring a hassle-free experience while minimizing risk.
Qualifications Note: Non-negotiables include readiness to learn and grow professionally; training is provided. We are looking for two main categories of qualifications:Professional
  • Strong preference for experience in tax auditing, tax consultancy, or tax advisory.
  • Experience with project management, detailed analysis, and research.
  • Positive references from past supervisors.
  • Sales tax experience is a plus, but not required.

  • High attention-to-detail and a conscientious, perfectionist mindset.
  • Effective written, webcam, and phone communication skills.
  • Ability to put clients at ease who are stressed or anxious.
  • Ability to set clear boundaries and follow up to ensure completion.

About the Role

The Client Tax Specialist serves as the primary contact for existing client accounts, overseeing nexus reviews, permit applications, permit closures, offboarding, tax settings, and new sales channels. You will organize transaction data, compile nexus information (with supervision), update tax software, and oversee the sales tax permit application process, communicating effectively with clients.

You will work directly with clients to address needs or concerns and ensure a positive experience. Over time, you may become a go-to expert for sales tax explanation in plain English. We provide extensive training; attitude and potential are valued over current knowledge.

Your Primary Responsibilities

  • Sales Tax Settings Setup and Testing. Update and test tax collection settings on platforms for permit start/end dates.
  • Client Offboarding. Manage permit closures, final billings, paperwork, and system removals; ensure a positive end experience.
  • First Contact for Existing Clients Needing Support. Provide support across listed areas to maximize onboarding efficiency.
  • Billing Support. Primary contact for billing-related changes or issues across all clients.
  • Contributing to Onboarding Process Improvement. Identify and implement workflow improvements with the Onboarding Team.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Flat monthly salary (dependent on experience) ranging from 102,725php - 105,144php
  • 43 days off per year, including 22 holidays and 21 days of PTO
  • 3 additional days off per year for volunteering
  • 100% Remote work with flexible hours
