About the role

We are seeking an experienced Buyer to join our dynamic team at Acbel PolyTech (Phils.), Inc.'. As a Buyer, you will play a crucial role in our Manufacturing operations, contributing to the efficiency and success of our Procurement & Inventory processes. This is a full-time position based in Calamba City Laguna.

What you'll be doing

  • Responsible for material planning and procurement of electrical components.
  • Selects vendors from approved vendors list (AVL) considering all policies and procedures, goals and targets on various metrics.
  • Analyze MRP data and monitors lead time considering demand forecasts to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Confirm and follow up order acknowledgments and delivery confirmation.
  • Maintain optimal stock levels to meet customer demands.
  • Expedites urgent materials and controls materials inventory.
  • Reports and updates Planning/Sales for the materials delivery status and commitments.
  • Prepares and supports materials of new models/product EVT, DVT, MVT
  • Participates in the regular stock audits to ensure accuracy.
  • Reviews and develop strategies to reduce idle/slow moving, excess inventory, excess PO to minimize handling and related costs.
  • Collaborate w/ Quality team in addressing quality issues, returns, cost charging and supplier performance evaluation
  • Analyze spot market approved source and price to resolve supply gap for long lead time urgent components.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve issues related to incorrect shipments, or invoice discrepancies.
  • Reports and updates management and peers on market trends which may affect parts availability, costs, etc. and for appropriate action.
  • Monitors Invoice from shipment to parking, ensuring no discrepancies that may affect arrival and payment.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, quality standards, and audit requirements.
  • Executes and monitors all procurement activities.

What we're looking for

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Buyer or Purchasing Specialist role, preferably within the Manufacturing industry
  • Experience working with ERP systems or procurement software (e.g., SAP)
  • Thorough understanding of procurement best practices, including contract management, supplier evaluation, and inventory control
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing business requirements
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring the accuracy and completeness of purchasing records
