Transport and Customs Manager

Decathlon Philippines is expanding in the next 3 years, and we are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of innovation and success To accompany this fast development, we are looking for an additional teammate to join our Supply, Logistics, and Commerce team.

As a Transport and Customs Manager you will oversee and manage all import and customs activities within the designated perimeter. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that ensure efficient, cost-effective, and compliant operations. This role is crucial for optimizing supply chains, managing relationships with service providers, and ensuring products reach our stores and warehouses seamlessly.

You're a strategist

• Policy and Procedure Development: Creating and implementing a transport and customs policy, and optimizing procedures through SOPs, IT, and market benchmarks.

• Risk and Compliance Management: Establishing a regulatory watch for new customs regulations, conducting risk analyses, ensuring audit readiness, and evaluating the customs impact of financial/legal projects.

• Operational Strategy and Optimization: Reacting to supply chain disruptions, refining customs processes, influencing supply/procurement strategies, and leading process improvement projects.

• Financial and Commercial Management: Forecasting transport volumes, setting up operational procedures with partners, managing financial aspects (invoicing, PNL, negotiations, pricing), and conducting transport/customs bidding

Operational and logistical responsibilities

• Shipment & Customs Compliance Management

  • Oversee the end-to-end management of shipments from origin to destination, including international transport and customs activities, in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Ensure the correct customs classification of all imported products into the country.

  • Determine and secure the preferential and non-preferential customs origins of imported products.

  • Ensure accuracy of documents.

• Stakeholder & Partner Synchronization: Guarantee seamless process between warehouses, freight forwarders, customs clearance service providers, Decathlon stores, and other functional departments by leading performance meetings, coaching all service providers and internal partners, and fixing supply chain milestones.

• Service Provider Performance & Review: Manage transport service providers, customs brokers, consultants, and other service providers and their performances.

  • Conduct monthly business reviews and animate action plans based on the results of these providers.

Stakeholder Engagement And Development

• Develop and maintain a strong network within the country's customs community and be recognized as a key Decathlon representative.

• Guarantee a regulatory watch to anticipate changes in customs laws and practices.

• Conduct training for internal and external personnel based on performance targets and events (e.g., new team members, new supply routes, new service providers).

• Passionate for sports

• Have at least 5 years of experience in importation, customs, logistics, and international freight

• Strong understanding of Philippine importation and customs regulations. Customs Broker License is a plus but not required

• Proven experience in transport operations, product classification, and customs processes

• Excellent leadership, analytical, 3PL management, and negotiation skills

• Strong coordination and communication skills across departments and partners

• Has a knack for digital tools and systems

• Problem-solving mindset and ability to work under pressure
