Job Summary:

The Payroll Business Analyst is responsible for analyzing, designing, and implementing payroll processes and systems to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. The role bridges payroll operations with business and system requirements, ensuring seamless payroll execution while supporting process improvements and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather, document, and analyze business requirements related to payroll processes, systems, and reporting.
  • Support payroll operations by identifying inefficiencies and recommending process improvements.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and IT teams to ensure payroll systems align with organizational needs.
  • Assist in payroll system implementations, upgrades, and integrations with HRIS or ERP systems.
  • Develop and maintain payroll documentation, including process flows, user guides, and compliance reports.
  • Perform payroll data analysis to identify discrepancies, trends, and ensure data integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Provide support for audits, reconciliations, and month-end payroll reporting.
  • Act as a liaison between payroll operations and system providers/vendors.
  • Train and support end-users on payroll systems and processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in payroll processes and systems (end-to-end payroll knowledge required).
  • Experience as a Business Analyst, HRIS Analyst, or in a similar analytical role.
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax compliance, and labor laws.
  • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, ADP, Workday, etc.) and MS Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in HRIS/ERP system implementation or payroll transformation projects.
  • Knowledge of reporting tools and data visualization (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive payroll data with confidentiality.
