Summary

The Configuration Specialist will need to have experience in technology, systems, application configuration and data management. The primary role is to provide the support for the implementation of Hummingbird's PPM platform and configure/support the application to the client's requirements, working in conjunction with the project manager and other Hummingbird team members.

They will contribute to defining how the platform is configured (against our client's requirements), the ongoing support functions to maintain the platform and design/develop and configure integration capabilities through Snaplogic and Tasktop HUB of the platform to other client systems like Finance applications, ITSM, etc.

It would be beneficial for the Configuration Specialist to have skills in project management, process/workflow design, application integration and Application technology rollout experience. This will require hands-on experience with business requirements gathering/analysis and strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret data and the application configuration. The Configuration Specialist will have the responsibility to produce technical artefacts like functional specifications, data flow diagrams, test plans and test cases. A background in software development would be advantageous with the understanding of software release cycles, ability to debug and dissect system and application logs, write and understand complex SQL queries, and knowledge of system integrations.

Implementing appropriate solution deployment governance processes and tools while maintaining a key focus on system changes and application functionality.

The Configuration Specialist collaborates with various stakeholders, including IT teams, business units, and management, to ensure the successful implementation of our PPM technology solutions.

Summary Responsibilities:

Requirements Analysis:

Collaborate between Hummingbird team and business stakeholders to gather and analyse technical requirements. Gain an In-depth understanding of the Hummingbird PPM solution both functionally and technically, to enable the translation of business needs into technical specifications and recommend appropriate solutions.

Technical Implementation/ Delivery:

Develop, implement, and maintain software solutions, configurations, and integrations. Collaborate across the Hummingbird teams to ensure solutions meet quality and performance standards.

Data Analysis:

Analyse and interpret complex data sets to provide insights and support decision-making. Design and implement data models for migrations and import/exports from the PPM application.

Troubleshooting and Support:

Investigate and resolve technical issues, providing support to end-users. Monitor system performance and identify areas for improvement.

Collaboration:

Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects. Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Documentation:

Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation. Ensure that documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant parties. Ability to create and write clear, complete documentation of systems and procedures to standardise implementations and support functions.

Technology Evaluation:

Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies. Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Day-to-day Responsibilities:


•   Solution Analysis and Design, Implementation, and Configuration across Hummingbird Solutions and Services


•   Working within Various Teams - Solution Design and Implementation, Special Projects, and Onboarding teams to provide technical direction and solutions for Hummingbird products and services. Work with and within these teams to identify and translate system requirements into software configurations and documentation.


•   Provide technical insight and subject matter expertise when defining, developing, and executing customer-facing solutions.


•   Respond to technical/support queries arising from clients and support channels.


•   Develop how to guides and Videos for client LMS training and Support functions.


•   Analyse, interpret, and make recommendations based on gathered data.


•   Provide Technical expertise across Hummingbird Services to meet clients requirements.

Selection Criteria (Configuration Specialist)

Qualifications


•   Certified analyst/consultant or technology equivalent accredited in specialist area.


•   Business or similar degree qualification preferred (e.g., Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field)


•   At least 5+ years of technical IT- related experience.


•   Minimum 3+ years of technical analysis/consultancy and enterprise experience.


•   English communication is required, and other languages are advantageous.

Experience


•   5+ Years of demonstrated experience working as a Technical Analyst or in a technical capacity.


•   Proven ability to communicate with influence, negotiate outcomes and manage stakeholder relationships.


•   Experience advising teams and clients on the design and implementation of technical solutions during the delivery phase.


•   Experience in configuring applications to meet designed requirements and producing solution architecture diagrams.


•   Experience on large programs meeting security, availability, performance, audit, recovery, backup and other requirements.


•   Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate between business and technical terminology.


•   Experience with cloud-based technologies


•   Knowledge/Nice to have programming languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, SQL, etc.).


•   Knowledge of database management systems and data modelling.


•   Familiarity with relevant technologies and tools in the field.


•   Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills including high degree of attention to detail and accuracy.


•   Excellent organizational and project management skills including ability to organize time, work on multiple tasks, and follow through to completion of task or project.


•   Exposure to Application Integrations and Data migrations

Knowledge of:


•   PPM Solutions / tools (e.g., Planview)


•   Tasktop / Snaplogic or other middle ware software (e.g., MuleSoft)


•   LMS / Moodle Knowledge advantage


•   MS Project and Office solutions


•   Proven ability to design, develop, and deploy experiences across modern digital environments.


•   Knowledge of software/hardware design, Software integration (API's, Data integration and databases), and deployment techniques and methodologies.


•   Working knowledge of infrastructure interoperability (Hardware, Software and Networking).
