IT–MIS Officer

Job Summary

The IT–MIS Officer is responsible for maintaining, supporting, and enhancing the hospital's information systems and network infrastructure. The role ensures that all IT systems — particularly the BizBox Hospital Information System — are fully functional, secure, and aligned with hospital operations, data privacy, and Department of Health (DOH) standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Systems Administration and Maintenance

• Administers and maintains the BizBox Hospital Information System (HIS) and other hospital software applications.
• Provides end-user support for BizBox modules (billing, cashiering, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, etc.).
• Coordinates system troubleshooting and liaise with BizBox technical support for issue resolution.
• Ensures data backups, database integrity, and smooth system operation.
• Monitors system performance and implement necessary updates or patches.

2. Network and Hardware Management

• Maintains hospital network infrastructure including servers, routers, switches, and workstations.
• Ensures stable internet and intranet connectivity across departments.
• Oversees hardware inventory, preventive maintenance, and equipment repair.

3. Data Security and Privacy

• Implements security measures to protect hospital and patient data in compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA
• Manages user access rights, account security, and regular password audits.
• Performs routine data backup, storage, and disaster recovery procedures.

4. User Support and Training

• Provides prompt technical support for staff using BizBox and other hospital systems.
• Conducts orientations and training sessions for new and existing system users.
• Develops and maintain system user manuals and IT policies for internal reference.

5. System Development and Upgrades

• Participates in system enhancements, module testing, and version upgrades.
• Evaluates and recommends technology improvements to improve workflow efficiency.
• Coordinates with vendors and management regarding software and hardware acquisitions.

6. Documentation and Reporting

• Maintains IT asset inventory, software license documentation, and network diagrams.
• Prepares monthly reports on system uptime, incidents, and IT projects.
• Assists in IT budget preparation and procurement requests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience using and administering BizBox Hospital Information System (HIS).
• Strong knowledge of hospital workflows and information systems integration.
• Experience in network and server management (Windows/Linux environments).
• Knowledge of database administration (SQL) is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Data Privacy Act of 2012 and DOH eHealth standards.
• Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Php30, Php35,000.00 per month
