The Merchandising Officer is responsible for ensuring timely merchandise is available at the right store, with the correct pricing and corresponding barcode labels. The Merchandise Specialist sees to the health of overall inventory vis-à-vis sales offtake. She is the gatekeeper for each item's profitability.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

I. INVENTORY MANAGEMENT

1. Studies OTB simulation and sales forecast
2. Conducts inventory simulation to gauge levels and health
3. Assists on identifying products to be highlighted in the store based on campaigns, trends, forecasts and demand
4. Plans for expected demand based on seasonality
5. Communicates with the marketing team on status Order Confirmation
6. Sends launch list of new items to Operations and Marketing Department
7. Checks Item Master File for accuracy
8. Verifies items delivered vs order placed
9. Checks accuracy of trade discount in invoices
10. Plans with Marketing and Operations team on special events, campaigns and seasonal execution
11. Collates product supply to facilitate bulk buys and institutional sales
12. Prepares product catalogue for institutional selling and distributorship

II. PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS

1. Checks on sales of items vs inventory (product movement)
2. Executes strategies to achieve sales target and maintain desired inventory level
3. Ascertains profitability targets are met with promotions introduced
4. Works with Inventory and Operations departments regarding product consolidation
5. Verifies campaign/seasonal implementation / gets feedback from Operations
6. Reviews performance and prepares weekly, monthly and seasonal reports for internal consumption as well as for sharing/presentation to management and retail counterparts

III. UPKEEP

1. Reviews items based on consumer acceptance, and prepares data for analysis of Management in determining continuance or discontinuance of the item/s
2. Submits items for RTV to Sourcing Team
3. Proposes and implements discount scheme while maintaining desired total gross margin
4. Conducts store visits - initiates customer interaction, touches base with front liners
5. Keeps abreast with competitors and customer interest
6. Communicates with marketing and Operations team for order details, delivery, price changes, implementation specifics, updates and other concerns
7. Communicates with Sale Coordinators regarding stock requests and other inventory concerns
8. Coordinates regarding delivery, transfer and other special instructions

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in merchandising, buying, or inventory management
• Previous experience in retail or FMCG industry preferred
• Experience with inventory management systems and forecasting tools

WORK ELIGIBILITY:

• Must be legally authorised to work in the Philippines
• Willing to work full-time in Las Piñas City, Metro Manila
• Ability to travel to stores and suppliers as required
