Summary

The Application Engineer (ServiceNow) will play a key role in driving the effective use of ServiceNow SAM Pro and related technologies to support the organization's software asset management strategy. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance, cost optimization, and operational efficiency through the integration of SaaS applications, data pipelines, and automation workflows.

The engineer will design and manage dashboards, reporting tools, and low-code solutions to deliver actionable insights, while also supporting ITIL-based processes across request, incident, and change management. With strong technical expertise in scripting, Azure services, and ServiceNow flows, the Application Engineer will collaborate closely with architects, product owners, and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and business-aligned solutions.

Responsibilities

ServiceNow SAM Pro Administration

• Configure, maintain, and optimize ServiceNow SAM Pro to support software asset management processes, ensuring compliance and cost efficiency.

SaaS & Integration Management

• Implement and manage direct integration profiles with SaaS applications, APIs, and authentication mechanisms to streamline data flow across platforms.

Software License & Asset Lifecycle Management

• Monitor, analyze, and manage software licenses across the organization, ensuring accurate entitlement tracking, renewals, compliance, and optimization of license usage.

Data Analysis & Reporting

• Build, manage, and maintain Power BI dashboards and ServiceNow reports to provide actionable insights on software usage, compliance status, and optimization opportunities.

Data Pipeline & Lake Integration

• Collaborate with data engineers to design and manage data pipelines, integrating ServiceNow with data lakes for advanced analytics and reporting.

Scripting & Automation

• Develop and maintain scripts (SQL, PowerShell, JavaScript) to automate workflows, enhance system performance, and improve process efficiency.

Technical Coordination & Project Delivery

• Lead technical coordination efforts with cross-functional teams, ensuring timely project execution, alignment with business needs, and adherence to governance standards.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

• Work closely with architects, product owners, and stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and ensure delivery aligns with organizational goals.

Azure & Identity Management Support

• Support integration with Azure services, Entra ID, access packages, and role/permission management to strengthen identity and access governance.

Low-Code & Workflow Automation

• Design and implement low-code applications and ServiceNow Flow automations to streamline IT processes and reduce manual effort.

ITIL Process Support

• Apply ITIL best practices to ensure smooth execution of request, incident, change, and problem management processes within ServiceNow.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in ServiceNow SAM Pro.
• Experience with SaaS and direct integration profile integration.
• Strong knowledge of software license management and software asset management lifecycle.
• Expertise in creating and managing PowerBI dashboards.
• Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data.
• Understanding of data lakes and pipelines, API, and authentications.
• Fundamental scripting skills (SQL, PowerShell, JavaScript).
• Technical coordination and project management skills.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication skills for working with architects, product owners, and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Azure services, Entra ID, access packages, roles, and permissions.
• Knowledge in Low-code or ServiceNow Flow
• ITIL process awareness, such as request, incident, and change management
