Job Summary

The Seasonal Commis 3 – Baker is responsible for supporting the daily bakery and pastry operations of the hotel. This role involves preparing a variety of baked goods, maintaining product quality, and ensuring adherence to food safety and presentation standards. The ideal candidate is skilled, reliable, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and production of breads, cakes, cookies, pastries, and other bakery items according to established recipes and standards.
  • Contribute creative ideas and support the development of new dessert and bakery items when required.
  • Ensure all products meet the hotel's quality, taste, and presentation standards.
  • Follow all hygiene, food safety, and sanitation procedures as mandated by the hotel and local regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery workstations at all times.
  • Report any equipment issues, maintenance needs, accidents, or safety concerns to the immediate supervisor.
  • Properly store bakery ingredients and finished products to ensure freshness and prevent spoilage.
  • Work closely with senior kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations.
  • Perform additional tasks or duties assigned by the Pastry Chef or management as needed.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of Culinary Arts, Food Technology, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or any related field.
  • At least 1–2 years of experience in a bakery, pastry shop, or hotel pastry department.
  • Skilled in baking fundamentals such as dough preparation, mixing, shaping, and finishing.
  • Strong attention to detail with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions accurately.
