Consultant, Test Automation Engineer

In this role, tives and trading group looking for a Test Automation engineer, who will be working closely with development and QA team around automating and enhancing the current automation, supporting devops and functional test for every sprint (both regression and functional testing).

The successful candidate will join a team of testers to deliver automation and functional test on various fronts & must be able to withstand pressure in a time-sensitive project environment while being proactive in calling out issues as and when they occur.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with the development team to design, implement, and validate Risk Management solutions within the MACCAP Equity Derivatives and Trading platform, ensuring alignment with business and technical requirements.
• Test functional changes for each sprint, including both manual and automated testing, with a focus on expanding automation coverage and improving regression test reliability.
• Work on continuous integration framework for the automation suite, ensure compatibility with cloud-based infrastructure.
• Follow test plan / schedule for building the test automation scripts, execution of these scripts and reporting of test results on daily basis.
• Thoroughly and clearly document all test scripts, review with test manager and team.
• Advocate for best practices in test automation, code quality, and risk mitigation throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Continuously seek opportunities to improve QA processes, tools, and methodologies, contributing to a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Qualifications we seek in you

Minimum Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in software application testing, including both web and mobile platforms.
• Comfortable performing a mix of Manual and Automated testing as required by project needs.
• Proven experience in Test Automation using tools such as Robot Framework, JMeter, Playwright, or similar frameworks.
• Strong working knowledge of SQL for data validation and back-end testing, as well as Unix shell scripting for automation and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python or Java) for test script development and automation.
• Experience with Vibe coding and leveraging AI/machine learning techniques in testing is highly desirable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Can navigate through vague specifications and requirements and coordinate and engage relevant stakeholders to obtain clarity on expectations
• Flexibility to work in an environment with changing priorities
• Highly self-motivated, adaptable and results oriented individual.
• Fast learner, critical thinker, and can work under time pressure
• Demonstrable track record of ownership and accountability
• Investment banking domain experience (good to have)
• Experience on cloud systems (good to have)

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills

• Ability to navigate vague specifications and requirements and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to clarify expectations.
• Experience in developing and implementing automated tests for platforms with workflows.
• Experience in developing comprehensive test strategies for data-intensive applications.
• Leadership experience in guiding testing teams and driving quality initiatives
• Experience with test automation tools (Robot Framework, Python, Typescript/Javascript) is a plus
