QA Test Engineer

OVERVIEW

We are seeking a QA Test Engineer to join our ISS QBIT (Quality Assurance Benchmarking and Independent Testing) team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the quality and reliability of ISS STOXX applications and services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, executing, and supporting testing efforts across various projects, with a strong focus on both internal and external applications within the ISS governance business.

We're looking for someone who is detail-oriented, goal-driven, and capable of managing multiple assignments independently and efficiently.

RESPONSIBLITIES

• Reviewing requirements, creating, executing, and documenting test cases.
• Manage QA environments, including deployments, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Design, modify, and expand testing frameworks to enhance their effectiveness.
• Provide technical support and guidance to team members.
• Collaborate with Product Management and Development teams to ensure products are being built based on the business specifications and requirements.
• Develop and execute test plans for ISS-SCAS projects.
• Perform security testing for supported applications.
• Implement and maintain automated testing for supported test suites.
• Manage the time and expectation for releases accordingly.
• Assist Team members with solving technology-related issues as needed.
• Collaborate with technical teams in different time zones and located in different countries.
• Participate in internal team initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Demonstrate consistency, reliability, and strong work ethics.

QUALIFICATIONS

Training and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Fresh graduates with a minimum of 3 months of internship experience in software development or testing are welcome.
• Alternatively, 1+ year of professional experience in software development or software testing.
• Prior experience in the financial industry is a plus.
• Experience working in a global development organization is advantageous.
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages.
• Hands-on experience with: SQL databases and stored procedures, HTML and Java, web services development and test automation, defect tracking systems (JIRA preferred), web servers (Apache Tomcat on Unix/Linux is a plus), and Linux OS, including bash scripting (preferred).
• Strong understanding of relational database management systems (RDBMS), with advanced knowledge of MS SQL Server and/or Oracle considered a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Independent, detail-oriented, and goal-driven.
• Effective time management and consistent work performance.
• Demonstrates commitment and reliability in professional responsibilities.

Work Location & Schedule:

• Amenable to work in Ayala North Exchange Makati and on a Hybrid work set-up (3 days onsite & 2 days' work from home)
• Amenable to working a dayshift schedule (10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, PHT)
