Information Technology Specialist

Responsible for tracking, maintaining, and managing IT hardware assets. Ensures efficient use of resources, maintains accurate records, conducts regular equipment checks, and manages asset-related spending within budget. Also recommends suitable hardware based on job requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of IT hardware (e.g., laptops, desktops, printers, TVs, CCTV)
  • Track asset assignments, returns, and disposals
  • Support hardware setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Ensure all assets are labeled and properly documented
  • Conduct daily and monthly check-ups of IT assets, including:
  • TVs in meeting rooms or common areas
  • CCTV systems
  • Laptops and desktops in use
  • Recommend appropriate IT assets (e.g., laptops, desktops) based on employee roles and tasks, ensuring alignment with performance needs and budget
  • Assist with audits and compliance checks
  • Monitor and manage IT hardware spending within approved budget
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs and optimize asset usage

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 1 year of experience in IT asset management or related roles, or fresh graduates with relevant skills or internships

Skills Required:

  • Good understanding of IT hardware specifications and usage
  • Familiarity with asset tracking tools or systems
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
  • Ability to assess hardware needs based on job functions
  • Budget awareness and cost-control mindset
  • Attention to detail in inspections and reporting
  • Collaborative and proactive communication across departments

Work Environment:

  • Primarily office-based.
  • May require occasional after-hours or weekend work for maintenance and support.
