POSITION SUMMARY:

The Global Vision Engineer is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and monitoring the capability, programs, and hardware of vision systems across all Advantek manufacturing sites. The role also acts as an alternate resource for SPC (Statistical Process Control) and Metrology functions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Determines, defines, prioritizes, and implements improvements in capability, standard operating procedures, reporting, and maintenance of in-line vision systems used in finished goods inspection

  • Implements global vision system standardization across all Advantek carrier tape manufacturing plants
  • Facilitates continuous improvement projects
  • Monitors vision system effectiveness
  • Engages in new product and process development to support vision system requirements
  • Designs vision inspection applications for new processes and products

Ensures training materials and methods for vision systems are in place, updated as needed, and implemented globally

  • Reviews, updates, and creates documents related to vision system operation, setup, training, and capability
  • Conducts training, orientation, and awareness sessions on new processes, software, and programs related to vision system setup and operations

Resolves internal and external corrective actions related to in-line vision systems

  • Verifies and validates reported issues
  • Formulates and implements both short-term and long-term corrective actions

Generates regular reports on vision inspection detection globally.

Collaborates with the Project Engineering team for new processes requiring in-line and offline inspection

Serves as a resource for customer compliance and issue resolution related to vision systems

Provides input to advance and innovate vision inspection systems for carrier tape inspection and manufacturing

Supports SPC and Metrology processes as a secondary function

Participates in the planning and improvement of policies, procedures, systems, and performance monitoring through committee and project team involvement

Performs other duties and responsibilities related to or implied by the above

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Licensed BS Engineering graduate, preferably in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering

Strong background in vision systems and automation

Knowledge of optics application and imaging systems

Familiarity with motor control and industrial electrical systems

Experience in electronics and programming languages (e.g., VB, C++)

Skilled in 3D mechanical design software (e.g., SolidWorks)

Proficient in computer hardware and Microsoft Office applications

Familiarity with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality systems

Hands-on experience with IATF 16949 core tools and PPAP compliance

  • Proficient in SPC and MSA implementation, analysis, and reporting
  • Knowledgeable in FMEA and Control Plan creation
  • Experience with CMM programming and measurement applications
