Phlebotomist

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform venipuncture, capillary puncture, and other specimen collection procedures on patients of all ages.
• Verify patient identity and ensure correct labeling of all collected samples.
• Prepare, clean, and maintain phlebotomy equipment and workstations.
• Transport specimens to the laboratory promptly and in accordance with established protocols.
• Observe and follow infection control and safety guidelines at all times.
• Assist patients who experience adverse reactions (e.g., dizziness, fainting) during or after blood collection.
• Maintain accurate logs, records, and documentation of specimen collection and patient interactions.
• Provide courteous and professional communication when dealing with patients, physicians, and other healthcare staff.
• Participate in regular training, competency assessments, and quality assurance activities.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Laboratory Supervisor or Pathologist.

Qualifications:

• At least a graduate of a 2-year Medical Laboratory Technician/Assistant course or equivalent related allied health course.
• Preferably with Phlebotomy training certificate or relevant work experience.
• Knowledgeable in standard phlebotomy techniques and infection control procedures.
• With strong attention to detail and accuracy in specimen labeling and handling.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
• Physically able to assist patients when needed.
• Willing to work on shifting schedules, weekends, and holidays.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Php14, Php16,000.00 per month
