POSITION OVERVIEW

• Reports to the Landscape Conservation Manager.
• Responsible for developing strategic livelihood plans and programs in coordination with IP organizations, Local Government Units (LGUs), the general population, government agencies, and private sector partners for sustainable agriculture.
• Provides direction to the livelihood program focusing on viable alternative livelihood projects and activities for direct deforestation agents and those in the supply chain of wood products (i.e. financiers, furniture makers, fuel wood gatherers, charcoal producers, transporters of logs, etc.).
• The successful candidate will work closely with a group of livelihood officers of the organization, as well as technical and livelihood staff of Kennemer Foods International, Agronomika Finance Corporation, Green Arrow Agri Ventures Inc., and other relevant business units of the Kennemer Group.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Engages with the indigenous peoples organizations & representatives of non-indigenous residents in the identification of feasible livelihood alternatives, primarily focused on the direct agents of deforestation;
• Prepares simple livelihood feasibility studies showing possible markets, technical, as well as financial requirements;
• Develops and maintains strategic relationships with public and private organizations that provide livelihood support services for communities in the areas of training, market support, funding/financing, and technologies;
• Organizes and facilitates exposure visits to successful IP projects in the region to enhance understanding of various commodities/non-farm enterprises, marketing strategies, and product development;
• Designs a livelihood training and mentoring curriculum for the Livelihood team;
• Provides direction and key lead for the Kennemer Group's livelihood involvement in South Cotabato (Agronomika Finance Corporation for micro-finance and rural credit, Kennemer Foods International for cacao and abaca supply chain, Green Arrow Agri Ventures Inc. for markets);
• Pilot-tests selected livelihood projects and activities

REQUIREMENTS

• Graduate of agribusiness, business management, livelihood development, or other related fields of discipline
• Entrepreneurial mindset to incubate self-financing, profitable community agri-enterprises
• Experience in livelihood development and management for at least five (5) years in the business sector, NGOs, and government institutions
• Strong networking skills, communication, and interpersonal facilitation
• Knowledge of a feasibility study and project proposal writing
• Knowledge of finance and basic accounting
• Creative thinker and good writing skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of the team
• Strong situational awareness of South Cotabato Province

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Php30, Php40,000.00 per month
