Job Summary:

Warabimochi Kamakura is a café renowned for its authentic and delectable warabimochi, a traditional Japanese dessert. We pride ourselves on delivering a unique experience that highlights the beauty of Japanese culture and flavors.

We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as Front Line Café Staff. In this role, you will assist with food preparation, craft high-quality specialty beverages, and provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment. A background in barista or drink preparation is highly preferred, as you will play a key role in ensuring our drinks and desserts meet the highest standards. This role also requires flexibility, as staff may be assigned to cashiering, food packing, or other operational tasks depending on the needs of the store.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare food items according to company recipes and standards, ensuring quality and presentation.
  • Create and serve a variety of drinks, including specialty coffees, teas, and other beverages.
  • Calibrate and maintain espresso machines to ensure consistent extraction and beverage quality.
  • Perform latte art and execute technical coffee-making skills with precision.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of food and beverage preparation areas.
  • Operate and maintain equipment such as espresso machines, blenders, and ovens.
  • Assist customers with menu choices, take orders accurately, and handle cash/card transactions.
  • Work flexibly across different roles, including cashiering, food packing, and front-line service, depending on business needs.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Restock inventory and supplies as needed, monitoring usage to avoid shortages.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow during busy periods.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and resolve complaints professionally and promptly.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in food preparation, barista work, or drink-making
  • Strong technical knowledge of espresso extraction, milk steaming, machine calibration, and latte art.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety practices and handling.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure.
  • Positive attitude, team-oriented mindset, and commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays, and to handle multiple roles as required.
