Position Overview

The Senior Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of the facility, while supervising and guiding junior housekeeping staff. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong leadership skills, and the ability to create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests, employees, or residents.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Operations:

  • Perform and oversee daily cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces in designated areas.
  • Ensure rooms, corridors, lobbies, and other assigned spaces meet cleanliness standards.
  • Handle specialized cleaning tasks, such as carpet shampooing, upholstery cleaning, and window washing.

Supervision & Leadership:

  • Assign tasks to junior housekeeping attendants and monitor their performance.
  • Train new housekeeping staff in cleaning techniques, use of equipment, and safety procedures.
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure cleaning standards are met.

Inventory Management:

  • Maintain stock of cleaning supplies, equipment, and toiletries.
  • Report low inventory levels and request replenishments.
  • Ensure proper usage and maintenance of cleaning tools and machinery.

Customer Service:

  • Respond promptly to guest or resident requests for housekeeping services.
  • Address complaints or issues related to cleanliness and ensure resolutions.
  • Build positive relationships with guests, residents, and colleagues to promote satisfaction.

Health & Safety Compliance:

  • Follow and enforce health and safety regulations, including the proper handling of hazardous cleaning materials.
  • Implement and adhere to sanitation and hygiene protocols.
  • Assist in developing and updating housekeeping procedures to align with safety standards.

Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules and completed tasks.
  • Prepare reports on staff performance and housekeeping operations.
  • Collaborate with management to improve efficiency and service quality.
