Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Credit Investigator to evaluate the creditworthiness of individuals or businesses applying for credit. The role involves conducting thorough investigations of applicants' financial status, employment, payment history, and other relevant factors to assess risk and recommend appropriate credit decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct background and credit investigations on loan or credit applicants.
  • Verify financial documents, employment history, business registrations, and other relevant records.
  • Visit applicants, guarantors, or business sites to gather first-hand information (as required).
  • Analyze applicants' credit history, repayment capacity, and risk profile.
  • Prepare investigation reports and recommendations for credit approval or rejection.
  • Coordinate with sales, credit analysts, and collections teams for applicant verification.
  • Ensure compliance with company credit policies, risk standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of investigations and ensure confidentiality of client information.
  • Assist in monitoring existing accounts to detect potential credit risks.
  • Provide input for improving credit investigation processes and risk assessment practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • At least 1–2 years of experience in credit investigation, risk assessment, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical, research, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to conduct field investigations and interact with clients professionally.
  • High level of integrity and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with credit databases or financial systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in banking, microfinance, lending institutions, or credit cooperatives.
  • Knowledge of credit laws, financial compliance, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple investigations at once.

Working Conditions:

  • Combination of office work and field investigations.
  • Travel to client locations, businesses, or guarantors may be required.
  • Standard working hours, with occasional overtime based on workload.
