We are currently seeking experienced Structural / Mechanical Model Checkers to join our Steel Detailing team.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive checks of 3D Tekla models and drawings to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to company standards.

• Identify and resolve inconsistencies, errors, or clashes within models and drawings.

• Collaborate closely with modellers, detailers, engineers, and project managers to maintain quality and consistency across deliverables.

• Ensure drawings are aligned with design intent, fabrication requirements, and Australian standards.

• Provide constructive feedback and technical guidance to modellers to improve output quality.

• Track and report model checking progress, flagging potential risks or delays.

• Manage and issue RFIs as required to clarify design information.

• Contribute to continuous improvement of internal checking and QA processes.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proficiency in Tekla Structures (3D modelling and checking).

• Solid understanding of fabrication and erection processes within the structural steel industry.

• Experience in commercial, industrial, or mining projects.

• Familiarity with Australian standards and specifications.

• Attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to identify and resolve technical and coordination issues effectively.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office tools preferred.

• Organized, capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
