Wintel Lead

Position Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced Active Directory & Windows Technical Lead to join our global Infrastructure Shared Services team. This role will be critical in designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-scale Windows Server and Active Directory environments, supporting operations across more than 600 remote locations worldwide, including Asia, Europe, the Americas, and Canada.

As a senior technical authority, you will act as the key point of contact for AD and Windows services, guiding architecture decisions, supporting high-level escalations, and driving continuous improvement in systems performance, stability, and security.

Primary Responsibilities:Technical Consulting Services (Architecture & Design):

• Provide subject matter expertise and define non-functional requirements for AD & Windows infrastructure
• Support compliance efforts, platform security, and risk mitigation
• Influence technical architecture decisions for Windows and AD platforms
• Engage with vendors and define roadmap strategies
• Demonstrate expertise in solutions such as WSUS and Windows Clustering

Functional / Operational Enhancement:

• Ensure performance, reliability, and operational consistency of infrastructure
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across Windows and AD environments
• Drive automation and ITIL-based process enhancements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (network, systems, security) to deliver optimized solutions

Support:

• Act as a global escalation point for all complex AD & Windows-related issues
• Own and resolve high-impact problem records end-to-end
• Lead life cycle management planning and implementation
• Maintain firmware and driver baselines
• Initiate service improvement initiatives and performance optimization

Secondary Responsibilities:

• Assist with evaluation of monitoring, management, and administration tools
• Provide regular reporting on system performance, availability, and support metrics
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for operations and support teams

Primary Technical Skills:

• MCSE certification (Windows Server 2012 or higher)
• Deep experience with AD 2012/2016 design, implementation, and migrations
• Windows Server 2012/2016 administration
• Expertise in WSUS, Windows Clustering, and large-scale enterprise support
• Strong system administration background in Windows infrastructure

Secondary Technical Skills:

• Virtualization: VMWare, Hyper-V
• Network configuration (preferably with Cisco/Nexus switches)
• Software packaging and deployment experience
• Cloud technologies: AWS
• Configuration management tools: Ansible, Puppet, Chef
• Experience with Docker and DevOps environments
• Familiarity with ITIL practices

Behavioral Skills:

• 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Active Directory, Layer 2/3 networking, and storage troubleshooting
• Highly self-motivated and eager to continue learning
• Strong team player with ability to work cross-functionally
• Customer-focused with excellent problem-solving skills
• Fluent in English (spoken and written)
• Strong analytical skills with business awareness
• Willingness to travel as needed

Technical Environment:

• Virtualization: VMWare Enterprise/EnterprisePlus, Nutanix NOS
• Hardware: Dell servers (XC720, XC730, R7xx series)
• Operating Systems: Windows Server 2003–2012 R2, Linux RHEL 5/6/7
• Tools: CA Service Desk Manager (Ticketing & CMDB)
