Role Description

As a Regulatory Compliance Assistant, you will support the legal and compliance functions of the bank by preparing legal documents, assisting with administrative tasks, and ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements. The role requires effective communication and collaborative work with both internal teams and external stakeholders to maintain compliance and support organizational growth.

Key Functions

  • Perform scheduled compliance reviews and testing across branches, branch-lite units, and head office departments to assess adherence to regulatory requirements
  • Prepare written reports summarizing findings, observations, and areas for improvement
  • Recommend operational enhancements and corrective actions to address identified compliance gaps
  • Track and follow up on the implementation status of agreed corrective measures and update monitoring reports accordingly
  • Review internal policies and procedures to ensure consistency with BSP, SEC, PDIC, AMLC, and other regulatory guidelines
  • Support the documentation and updating of operational manuals, policies, and procedures
  • Organize and maintain records of banking laws, BSP circulars, memoranda, and other regulatory issuances to serve as reference materials for the Compliance unit

Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of Law, BSP regulations and ability to assist with legal compliance tasks
  • At least one (1) year of experience in banking, financial services, or a compliance, risk, or governance-related role
  • Effective communication skills and ability to coordinate with various stakeholders
  • Strong Communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with stakeholders
  • Experience in Administrative Assistance and supporting organizational compliance tasks
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Attention to detail and commitment to upholding confidentiality and ethical standards
  • Bachelor's degree in Legal Management, Law, or a related field is preferred
