About the Role We are a growing Durable Medical Equipment (DME) company building an in-house billing and collections team. We are seeking a Medical Billing & Collections Specialist to support billing, accounts receivable, and collections across Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and commercial insurance.

Our primary product focus includes Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) and other recurring DME supplies. Prior CGM or DME experience is strongly preferred, but experienced medical billing and collections professionals with U.S. insurance experience are encouraged to apply.

This role is ideal for someone who wants exposure to end-to-end billing and collections in a DME environment and the opportunity to grow into more specialized billing or AR roles.

This is not hospital billing and not patient collections.

Key Responsibilities: Billing & Claim Support:
  • Assist with preparing and submitting medical and DME claims
  • Support billing for recurring DME and CGM supplies
  • Review claims for basic accuracy before submission
  • Correct rejections and billing errors as needed
Accounts Receivable & Collections:
  • Follow up on unpaid and delayed claims
  • Work with Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and commercial payers
  • Use payer portals, phone calls, and written follow-ups
  • Update claim notes and follow-up statuses accurately
Denials & Issue Resolution:
  • Review basic denials and determine next steps
  • Route complex denials to senior billing or AR staff
  • Assist with documentation requests and payer correspondence
  • Identify recurring issues and escalate patterns to leadership
Team & Process Support:
  • Follow established billing and collections workflows
  • Collaborate with billing, AR, posting, and documentation teams
  • Support audit readiness and internal quality checks

Required Experience & Skills:
  • 2+ years of medical billing, AR, or collections experience
  • Experience with Medicare, Medicare Advantage, or commercial insurance
  • Familiarity with medical billing workflows and payer follow-ups
  • Strong organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a high-volume environment

Strongly Preferred:
  • Experience with Durable Medical Equipment (DME) billing
  • Experience with Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) or diabetic supplies
  • Experience with recurring or resupply billing models
  • Experience with DME or medical billing software (e.g., Niko Health or similar)

What This Role Is Not:
  • Not hospital billing
  • Not patient collections
  • Not entry-level with no billing background
  • Not physician-office-only billing
