About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Draftsperson to produce high-quality shop drawings, lead project coordination, and support daily project operations. You will work closely with builders, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and internal teams to ensure all drawings meet Australian and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilise CAD software to transform design drawings, schematics, and specifications into detailed shop drawings that comply with company standards.
  • Manage daily project operations, including communication with builders and subcontractors, to help keep projects on budget and on schedule.
  • Create technical drawings based on specifications and calculations, including rough sketches and detailed CAD work.
  • Perform basic material and weight calculations.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and the engineering team to review, revise, and update drawings.
  • Ensure all final drawings comply with Industry and Australian Standards.
  • Identify and report potential design issues to the team.

Main Duties

  1. Produce Detailed Drawings

  2. Deliver fully detailed, coordinated shop drawings for design approval, manufacture, and installation.

  3. Ensure all drawings meet Industry Standards and company requirements.

  4. Project Coordination

  5. Coordinate deliverables across multiple projects and delegate tasks to junior team members.

  6. Close out email and communication tasks promptly.
  7. Lead the coordination process and ensure drawings are delivered on time and within budget.

  8. Team Communication & Support

  9. Respond to communications promptly and advise your manager when unavailable.

  10. Submit weekly drawing registers.
  11. Train and support junior team members on BIM tasks.
  12. Attend project meetings every second Monday.

Work Standards

  • Drawings delivered on schedule, within budget, and aligned with company and industry standards.
  • All communications handled promptly; weekly drawing registers submitted.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in CAD, Revit (min. 2 years), Navisworks, and coordination tools.
  • Minimum 5 years' project drafting experience, including coordination.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to liaise with builders, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Ability to maintain PPE and follow WHS procedures.
