Carpentry Draftsman

Fig Advisory - Manila Office (North EDSA)
The Role
We're looking for a Carpentry Draftsman & Estimator who can bridge the gap between design intent and buildable reality.
You'll be drafting detailed carpentry shop drawings, creating accurate material estimates, and working directly with our architecture and construction teams across Australia and the Philippines.
This isn't a "sit in the corner and draft" role. You'll be problem-solving, communicating with clients, and owning the technical accuracy of what gets built.
What You'll Actually Do
Drafting & Documentation:
- Produce detailed carpentry shop drawings and joinery details
- Create construction documentation for custom millwork, cabinetry, and timber structures
- Coordinate with architects and engineers to resolve design conflicts
- Prepare as-built drawings and redline markups
Estimation & Costing:
- Generate accurate material take-offs from architectural drawings
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for carpentry and joinery work
- Source and price materials from local and international suppliers
- Create bill of quantities (BOQ) for tender submissions
Coordination & Communication:
- Liaise with Australian clients and project managers
- Coordinate with contractors and fabricators
- Review and respond to RFIs (Request for Information)
- Attend project meetings and present technical solutions
What We're Looking For
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in AutoCAD (2D drafting is essential, 3D is a bonus)
- Experience with carpentry/joinery detailing and shop drawings
- Strong understanding of timber construction methods and materials
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
- Solid math skills for accurate quantity take-offs and estimates
Experience:
- 2-5 years in carpentry drafting, joinery detailing, or similar role
- Background in construction, fitout, or carpentry fabrication environment
- Experience with residential or commercial projects (bonus if both)
- Familiarity with Australian construction standards is a plus but not required
Character:
- Hunger: You want to grow, learn, and take on bigger challenges
- Discipline: You deliver accurate work, on time, every time
- Character: You own mistakes, communicate clearly, and do the right thing
What We Offer
Compensation:
- Salary: ₱22,000 - ₱30,000 per month (based on experience)
- Performance-based reviews every 12months
- Clear path to senior roles and team leadership
Benefits:
- Government-mandated benefits (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG)
- 13th month pay
- HMO (under implementation)
- Work-from-office setup with proper tools and software
Culture:
- Access to our mini library (yes, we have books in every office)
- Great Place to Work certified company
- Quarterly awards: Fire in the Belly, Team Lifter, Dependable One
- Direct exposure to Australian clients and international projects
- Training and upskilling opportunities
Work Arrangement
Location: North EDSA, Manila (work from office) Hours: Monday to Friday, standard business hours Setup: You'll have a proper workstation, licensed software, and the tools you need
