DevOps Engineer

Summary:

The DevOps Engineer, a key member of the EIT DevOps Team, is responsible for the staging and production infrastructure of Iron Mountain's Digital Services within the federal sector. This role is pivotal in managing and optimizing staging and production deployment environments across Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Microsoft Azure.

Core responsibilities include provisioning and maintaining secure, scalable, and robust cloud infrastructure for the InSight DXP Platform. The DevOps Engineer will apply extensive knowledge of cloud services and DevOps best practices to ensure application efficiency, high availability, and performance.

Additionally, this role involves creating and maintaining controls and documentation compliance. The DevOps Engineer will execute automation pipelines, upgrade infrastructure, troubleshoot complex issues, and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of deployment processes. Close collaboration with development, operations, and other EIT teams is crucial for delivering seamless and reliable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and maintain cloud infrastructure with a strong focus on GCP, AWS, and Azure.
• Work extensively with managed Kubernetes services in AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform or other configuration management tools.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, streamlining deployments with tools like Jenkins and GitLab.
• Manage and optimize observability strategies, implementing monitoring systems like Prometheus and Grafana.
• Ensure continuous availability of critical applications and lead troubleshooting efforts for application-related incidents.
• Diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure and application issues.
• Optimize application performance by fine-tuning system configurations and identifying bottlenecks.

Required Skills & Experience:

Educational Background:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (4-year degree).

Experience:

• 5+ years in Information Technology.
• Minimum 2 years as an SRE Engineer.

Technical Proficiencies:

• Extensive experience with GCP, AWS, and Azure cloud platforms.
• Proficiency in Kubernetes, especially managed services.
• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or other configuration management solutions.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling, including GitLab and Jenkins.
• Experience with MongoDB.
• Monitoring and Logging: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog.
• Software Application Development using Python, Java, or .Net.
• Deep understanding of cloud networking concepts (VPC, subnetting, TCP/IP, DNS, Load Balancers).

• Lead efforts in troubleshooting and resolving application-related incidents.
• Oversee the lifecycle management of applications, including upgrades, patches, and version rollouts.
• Ensure compatibility between application versions and underlying infrastructure.
• Maintain thorough documentation of application architectures, configurations, and known issues.
• Develop and update a knowledge base to provide guidelines for resolving common application issues.
• Plan and implement strategies for scaling services to meet growing demand in specific regions.
• Work with product and engineering teams to ensure infrastructure is capable of supporting future growth globally.
