Job Description: IT Technician

This role ensures smooth day-to-day IT operations, provides technical support to employees, and assists in implementing new technologies to enhance productivity and security.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Technical Support

  2. Provide first-level technical support to end-users (hardware, software, and network issues).

  3. Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, printers, and peripherals.
  4. Assist employees with system access, software installations, and troubleshooting.
  5. System Maintenance

  6. Monitor and maintain local area networks (LAN), internet connectivity, and IT equipment.

  7. Perform regular system updates, security patches, and antivirus scans.
  8. Ensure data backup and recovery systems are in place and functional.
  9. Hardware & Software Management

  10. Diagnose and repair malfunctioning hardware or software.

  11. Maintain inventory of IT assets and ensure proper documentation.
  12. Coordinate with vendors for IT equipment procurement, repair, and warranties.
  13. Security & Compliance

  14. Enforce company IT policies on data security and usage.

  15. Support cybersecurity measures, including password management, firewall monitoring, and access controls.
  16. Assist in compliance with relevant data protection laws and IT audit requirements.
  17. Projects & Improvements

  18. Support the rollout of new applications, systems, or upgrades.

  19. Assist in implementing IT infrastructure improvements to meet operational needs.
  20. Research and recommend innovative solutions to enhance IT operations.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  2. Proven experience as an IT Technician, Technical Support Specialist, or similar role.
  3. Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), and office software.
  4. Familiarity with networking concepts (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, routers, switches, Wi-Fi).
  5. Experience with troubleshooting, diagnostics, and system repairs.
  6. Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and data privacy standards.
  7. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.

Preferred Skills

  1. Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP).
  2. Experience with cloud services (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, AWS).
  3. Knowledge of database systems and IT ticketing tools.
  4. Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

Work Conditions

  1. Based at the company's office(s), with occasional travel to other sites if needed.
  2. May require on-call availability for urgent technical issues.
  3. Regular working hours with a case-to-case overtime on Emergency situations.
