Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Support Analyst - Pricing & Merchandising to help refine product pricing strategies through structured competitive research and margin analysis. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in repetitive but high-impact work—an analytical thinker who is comfortable combing through thousands of SKUs, performing market comparisons, and translating data into clear pricing recommendations. You will be instrumental in improving gross margins and overall pricing consistency, with the opportunity to shape tools and frameworks that can scale company-wide.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Analyze internal sales data to identify key product categories and performance trends.
• Conduct competitive pricing research by comparing product SKUs across multiple online retailers.
• Build and maintain pricing comparison models, using basic Excel formulas to calculate and track margins.
• Recommend margin strategies by product category (e.g., retail plus %, cost-up model, fixed pricing, etc.).
• Collaborate with operations and finance leadership to implement pricing decisions and adjustments.
• Maintain thorough documentation of pricing recommendations and rationale.
• Support continuous margin optimization by reviewing historical sales and identifying areas for improvement.
• Contribute to the development of scalable pricing tools and margin-setting frameworks.
• Take a proactive approach in identifying pricing inconsistencies and proposing solutions.
• Perform other related duties as needed.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, including basic margin and pricing calculations.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, research, and model building.
• High level of initiative and motivation; able to self-manage and identify ways to add value.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to summarize findings and make clear recommendations.
• Comfortable performing repetitive research tasks with a high standard of quality.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to think strategically while handling large volumes of detailed work.
• Ability to work US hours, with flexibility once independently working in the role dependent on client preferences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in e-commerce, retail merchandising, or pricing analytics.
• Background in finance, operations, or data entry roles with high-volume information processing.
• Familiarity with pricing tools, catalog management, or competitive research platforms.
• Prior experience working with distributed or remote teams.
