The laboratory technician is responsible for the testing and inspection of construction materials, including but not limited to setting of concrete mixtures.

  • Conduct proper test method in accordance with ASTM/AASHTO standard for fresh concrete such as slump test, temperature, unit weight, air content and time of setting of concrete mixtures.
  • Perform ASTM standard test procedure for soils/subbase such grading, plasticity, compaction, CBR & Abrasion.
  • Perform ASTM/AASHTO standard test procedure for fine aggregates and coarse aggregates such Sieve Analysis, specific gravity, unit weight, clay lumps, sand equivalent, abrasion and soundness.
  • Perform ASTM/ AASTHO standard test procedure for field density test for embankment and subbase course.
  • Conduct moisture test for concrete aggregates at batching plant stockpile prior to start of batching concrete.
  • Conducts proper sampling of all kinds of materials such as siols, aggregates, steel bar, cement etc.
  • Performs proper sampling of fresh concrete such as concrete cylinder, core samples and mortar cube and ensure proper curing and storage.
  • Encode test reports and keep proper filing for each kind of test performed.
