Job Summary

The Aircon Technician is responsible for the installation, preventive maintenance, and repair of air conditioning units and refrigeration systems used in the restaurant operations. A key focus is ensuring the efficient operation of walk-in freezers, cold storage, and other HVAC equipment to maintain food safety, product quality, and comfort in the workplace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspection, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of air conditioning units, chiller systems, and walk-in freezers.
  • Install, repair, and maintain refrigeration and HVAC systems in compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Monitor and maintain temperature levels of walk-in freezers to ensure proper food preservation.
  • Respond promptly to service calls from store and commissary units regarding air conditioning and refrigeration issues.
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems and implement corrective action.
  • Maintain accurate service logs and submit reports on work completed, spare parts used, and pending issues.
  • Coordinate with Operations and Store Managers to schedule and prioritize maintenance activities with minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety protocols and environmental regulations when handling refrigerants and chemicals.
  • Recommend replacement of parts and equipment when needed and assist in procurement coordination.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a Technical/Vocational Course in Airconditioning and Refrigeration or related field.
  • At least 2 years of work experience as Aircon Technician, preferably in a restaurant, food, or commissary setting.
  • Strong knowledge of walk-in freezer systems, cold storage, and HVAC equipment.
  • Skilled in electrical wiring, refrigeration cycle, and basic mechanical troubleshooting.
  • TESDA NC II/III Certificate in Refrigeration and Airconditioning is an advantage.
  • Must be physically fit, reliable, and willing to be assigned in various store/commissary locations as needed.
