This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced Nurse to join the Manila Doctors Hospital in Manila City, Metro Manila as an On Call Private Duty Nurse. This part-time role will see you providing personalized, high-quality nursing care to patients in a private setting, working closely with both the patients and their families.

What you'll be doing

  • Clinical Nursing Care
  • Provide direct, individualized nursing care in the patient's home.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed (oral, IV, subcutaneous, etc.).
  • Monitor vital signs, blood glucose levels, oxygen saturation, and other key indicators.
  • Conduct assessments and update the care plan based on the patient's evolving needs.
  • Palliative & End-of-Life Care
  • Deliver compassionate palliative nursing care including symptom relief (pain, dyspnea, nausea, anxiety).
  • Assist in managing complex medical conditions in collaboration with palliative care physicians.
  • Provide emotional support to both patient and family during the terminal phase of illness.
  • Facilitate advance care planning, including discussions around DNR, comfort care, and hospice transitions.
  • Wound Care Management
  • Assess, clean, and dress acute, chronic, and post-surgical wounds.
  • Monitor wound healing progress, infection signs, and document all care activities.
  • Collaborate with wound care specialists or physicians for complex wound management.
  • Bedside Nursing & Personal Support
  • Provide full assistance with daily living activities (bathing, toileting, feeding, grooming) when appropriate.
  • Maintain infection control practices in the home environment.
  • Educate patients and families on safe caregiving techniques.
  • Care Coordination & Documentation
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams such as the Home Care Plus Team and Department of Family and Community Medicine.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress, treatments, and incidents.
  • Communicate any significant changes in condition to the primary care provider.
  • Prepare and maintain medication logs, care notes, and medical supply inventories.

What we're looking for

  • A valid Nursing PRC license.
  • Significant experience in private duty or hospital-based nursing, ideally with a focus on Clinical Nursing Care, Wound Care Management, Palliative & End-of-Life Care.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with patients and their families
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills to make informed decisions in a timely manner
  • Proficiency in relevant medical terminology and documentation practices
  • A compassionate, adaptable and flexible approach to patient care
