Overview:

The Accounting Associate provides essential support in the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions and assisting in the preparation of financial reports. The role is instrumental in maintaining proper records, reconciling data, and supporting compliance with government regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Transactions:

  • Accurately record sales, expenses, and other financial data from various departments (e.g., front office, food & beverage, events).
  • Check the completeness of sales reports from POS systems and assist in verifying data from hotel property management systems (PMS).
  • Assist in daily reconciliation of cash collections, credit card transactions, and bank deposits.
  • Review supporting documents such as receipts, invoices, and disbursement vouchers for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in recording journal entries for routine transactions such as expenses, payroll, and petty cash liquidations.

Monthly and Periodic Tasks:

  • Support the preparation of monthly financial reports and summaries.
  • Perform account reconciliations (e.g., accounts payable, accounts receivable, petty cash, and inventory).
  • Help prepare schedules and documentation for tax filings (e.g., VAT, Withholding Tax) under supervision.
  • Assist in the compilation of requirements for permit renewals and government compliance.
  • Help gather and organize documents needed for internal and external audits.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, or a related business course.
  • At least 1–3 years of experience in general accounting or bookkeeping.
  • Familiarity with basic accounting principles and standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (QuickBooks Online experience is an advantage).
  • Background in hospitality, real estate, or service-oriented environments is a plus.
