Smartwave is seeking a
Data Engineer
who is passionate about building and managing data platforms that empower business decision-making and drive measurable impact. The successful candidate will work closely with managers from IT and business teams at MySale Group PLC ) – a leading international online retailer with established flash sales and retail websites across Australia, New Zealand, and South-East Asia. Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines to support business intelligence, reporting, and machine learning initiatives
  • Manage and optimize the company's current data platform, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability
  • Integrate data from diverse sources using modern data engineering tools and cloud services
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to define data requirements and deliver high-quality solutions
  • Conduct data quality checks, implement monitoring, and troubleshoot platform issues
  • Support advanced analytics and machine learning workflows, including deployment and scaling of models
  • Deliver data insights through visualization tools and dashboards to support decision-making

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years
    of professional experience in data engineering, data analysis, or a related role
  • Strong programming skills in
    SQL
    and
    Python
  • Hands-on experience with
    cloud data services
    and tools:

AWS
: Redshift, Sagemaker

Azure
: Event Hub, Service Bus

Snowflake
for data warehousing

  • Familiarity with
    .NET
    for integration and data workflows
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools such as
    Tableau
  • Adept at communicating technical concepts and business impact clearly
  • Experience in
    e-commerce, technology, or marketing industries
    is an advantage
  • Proactive, resourceful, and eager to learn new technologies
