Job Description

Responsible for overseeing the entire production and operational activities of the paper bag/corrugated manufacturing facility. The role ensures that production targets are met in terms of quality, efficiency, cost, and delivery while maintaining compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. The Operations Manager leads production teams, coordinates with support functions, and implements continuous improvement initiatives to achieve organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Production Management

  2. Plan, organize, and oversee daily production operations to meet customer orders and delivery schedules.

  3. Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, and materials.

  4. Monitor production efficiency, reduce waste, and improve output.

  5. Quality Assurance

  6. Enforce compliance with product specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.

  7. Collaborate with the Quality Control team to resolve issues and reduce defect rates.

  8. Operational Excellence

  9. Implement lean manufacturing, 5S, and other continuous improvement programs.

  10. Monitor KPIs such as production output, downtime, scrap rate, and order fulfillment.

  11. People Management

  12. Supervise, train, and develop supervisors and production staff.

  13. Foster teamwork, discipline, and compliance with company policies.

  14. Conduct performance evaluations and recommend corrective actions when needed.

  15. Inventory and Resource Management

  16. Coordinate with Procurement and Warehouse on raw material requirements and inventory levels.

  17. Control costs related to labor, utilities, and consumables.

  18. Health, Safety & Compliance

  19. Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards.

  20. Promote a safe working environment and enforce adherence to company and regulatory policies.

  21. Reporting and Coordination

  22. Prepare operational reports for management (production output, efficiency, downtime, etc.).

  23. Participate in management meetings and align operational strategies with company objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing/Production Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3–7 years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
  • Preferably with background in paper bag, corrugated box, or packaging industry

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Solid knowledge of production processes, machine operations (printing, cutting, gluing, corrugating), and quality control standards.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in production planning and control systems.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and organizational skills.

Other Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen is an advantage.
  • With knowledge regarding Heidelberg machine
  • High sense of responsibility, integrity, and results orientation.
  • Willing to work extended hours and handle a fast-paced production environment.
