JOB SUMMARY:

The Statutory Accounting Analyst is responsible for managing the general ledger function and ensuring compliance with US GAAP through key controllership activities. This role oversees month-end closing processes, conducts balance sheet reviews, and prepares or reviews reconciliations, including detailed country-level analyses. Additionally, the analyst ensures accurate, timely, and reliable statutory reporting, which includes the preparation of audited financial statements, income tax returns, and statistical reports. The position requires strong attention to detail and adherence to regulatory standards to maintain financial integrity and compliance.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

US GAAP Compliance

• Perform pre-close and month-end close activities, including balance sheet reviews and integrity checks.
• Review trial balances for significant movements, identify business drivers, and resolve open items.
• Validate debit/credit balances and ensure sufficiency of accruals.
• Conduct OPEX reviews and analyze income statement variances.

Financial Reporting and Analysis

• Collect financial data from various functions and prepare balance sheet packages.
• Perform flux analysis, reconcile data, and explain significant variances.
• Lead balance sheet review calls and ensure accuracy of reporting.

Country-Level Balance Sheet Reviews

• Conduct detailed entity-level balance sheet analysis through variation and analytical reviews.
• Manage open items, account aging, reconciliations, and action items for compliance.

Statutory Reporting

• Ensure completeness and reliability of financial data for statutory financial statements and income tax reporting.
• Prepare statutory workbooks, support audit fieldwork, and manage statutory adjustments.
• Oversee corporate income tax computations, legal approvals, and timely filing of FS and CITR.

Technical skills

• Working knowledge of accounting principles, standards and techniques under US GAAP and IFRS
• Displays eagerness to learn new accounting standards and principles

• Working knowledge of and hands-on experience in MS Office programs, SAP and other necessary tools/applications required to perform the role

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONS BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or a related field; CPA preferred.
• Minimum of 3–5 years relevant experience in audit, general ledger, or financial reporting.
